Use your HRD Corp levy for AI training

If your company pays the HRD Corp levy every month, the budget to upskill your team in AI may already be sitting in your account. Here is how a claim for a winsym.ai course works, step by step.

Five steps from levy to classroom

We handle the course side. Your HR team submits the application and the claim — we prepare every document they need.

01 · HR

Check your balance

Your HR or finance team checks the available levy balance in the HRD Corp employer portal.

02 · With us

Choose the course

We agree the course, dates, group size and venue, then send the quotation and course details for your application.

03 · HR

Apply before day one

HR submits the grant application online. Approval must be in place before the course starts.

04 · With us

Train

We deliver the course in-house or in a public cohort. Attendance is recorded for every session.

05 · HR

Claim

After the course we issue the invoice, attendance records and certificates your HR team needs to submit the claim.

Good to know: eligibility, rates and approval sit with HRD Corp, not with us. Rules change from time to time — always confirm current requirements on the official HRD Corp website or with your HRD Corp officer. We are happy to walk your HR team through it.

The paperwork we prepare

The most common reason a training claim stalls is missing paperwork. Our documentation pack is ready before you apply.

  • Course outline, learning outcomes and daily schedule
  • Trainer profiles with HRD Corp certification
  • Formal quotation on company letterhead
  • Attendance sheets for every session
  • Invoice matching the approved grant
  • Certificates of completion with online verification codes

Not sure where to start?

HRD Corp questions

If yours is not here, ask us directly — we reply within one business day.

Who pays the HRD Corp levy?

Employers in covered sectors with ten or more Malaysian employees are required to register and pay the levy, generally 1% of monthly wages. Employers with five to nine Malaysian employees may register voluntarily at a lower rate. Check the current rules on the HRD Corp website for your sector.

Can we claim an AI course?

Training that builds your employees' skills can be supported by HRD Corp grants when it is delivered in line with HRD Corp requirements and the grant is approved before training starts. Our courses are delivered by HRD Corp-certified trainers and we supply the course details your HR team needs for the application.

When do we need to apply?

Before the course begins. The grant application is submitted through HRD Corp's online system, and approval must be in place before day one. We recommend starting the paperwork as soon as dates are agreed.

What documents do you provide?

Course outline and schedule, trainer details, quotation, attendance records, invoice and certificates of completion — everything typically requested for the application and the claim afterwards.

What if our levy balance is not enough?

You can still run the course and pay the difference directly, or start with a shorter format. We will help you size the programme to your balance on the call.

Is coaching or custom software claimable too?

HRD Corp grants are for training. Coaching that includes structured training elements may qualify in some cases; software builds do not. For AI and digital projects, other programmes such as MDEC grants may apply — ask us and we will point you to the right body.
